eppure dovresti riuscire a risolvere col lilo.conf del nonno...
ricontrollati  il supporto SCSI nel kernel .

il mio e' questo ma tieni presente che a me e' RAID0 via sw quindi GRUB
lo tengo nell'mbr del disco ATA133 cosi' come li' tengo anche la /boot
