5 Personal Goals I’m Achieving This Year

As we head into the middle of the year, it’s a good time to check in on your personal goals for 2021. Are you making progress, or have you let them slip by the wayside? If you need some inspiration, here are five personal goals I’m achieving this year that might spark some ideas for your own life.

1. Prioritizing my Mental Health

This year, I’ve made a conscious effort to prioritize my mental health. I’ve realized that if I’m not in a good place mentally, everything else in my life suffers. So, I’ve been taking time for self-care activities like meditation, therapy, and journaling. I’ve also been giving myself permission to take breaks when I need them, whether that’s a day off work or a weekend away. Prioritizing my mental health has made a huge difference in my overall happiness and productivity.

2. Saving Money

I’ve always been a bit of a spender, but this year I’ve been trying to be more mindful of my money. I set a savings goal for the year and have been sticking to a budget to help me achieve it. I’ve also been looking for ways to cut back on unnecessary expenses, like eating out less and canceling subscriptions I don’t really use. It’s been challenging at times, but seeing my savings account grow has been a great motivator.

3. Practicing Gratitude

It’s easy to get caught up in all the negative things happening in the world, but this year I’ve been trying to focus on the good. I’ve been making a conscious effort to practice gratitude every day, whether that’s by jotting down three things I’m thankful for or simply taking a moment to appreciate something in my life. Practicing gratitude has helped shift my perspective and has made me feel more content with what I have.

4. Reading More

I’ve always loved to read, but in recent years I found myself falling out of the habit. This year, I made it a goal to read more and have been carving out time each day to do so. I’ve made a list of books I want to read and have been slowly working my way through them. Reading has been a great way to unwind and escape from the stresses of daily life.

5. Building Better Relationships

This year, I’ve also been making a concerted effort to build better relationships with the people in my life. That includes spending more quality time with friends and family, reaching out to people I haven’t talked to in a while, and being more intentional about the way I communicate with others. Building better relationships has not only made me feel more connected to the people I care about, but has also brought more joy and meaning into my life.

In conclusion, setting personal goals for yourself can be a powerful way to bring more happiness, fulfillment, and purpose into your life. Whether it’s prioritizing your mental health, saving money, practicing gratitude, reading more, or building better relationships, there are countless ways to challenge yourself and grow. By making these goals a priority and dedicating time and energy to achieving them, you’ll find yourself on a path towards a more rewarding and fulfilling life.
