My Journey of Creating a Personal Narrative Anchor Chart in 2nd Grade

Every teacher is passionate about teaching, and it is hard to find a teacher who does not put in extra effort to make their lessons more engaging and memorable. As a 2nd-grade teacher, I always strive to create the best possible learning environment for my students. It was during one of my brainstorming sessions that I came up with the idea of creating a Personal Narrative Anchor Chart to help my students with their writing. Here is my journey of creating a Personal Narrative Anchor Chart in 2nd grade.

The Idea of Creating a Personal Narrative Anchor Chart

• Body Paragraphs (Beginning, Middle, End)
• Conclusion
• Dialogue
• Sensory Details (Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, Smell)

Each component was explained in detail, and I used examples to help my students understand how to incorporate them into their writing. The chart was prominently displayed in my classroom, and my students referred to it regularly while working on their writing assignments.
