The Orlando Informer Meetup is an annual event hosted by the Orlando Informer, an online portal dedicated to everything related to theme parks in Orlando. The meetup is an exclusive experience for theme park enthusiasts, providing guests with early access to rides and attractions and allowing them to skip long lines. It also includes character meet-and-greets, Q&A sessions, and a dessert party.
The Experience
I arrived at Universal Studios well before the event started and was pleased to see that Orlando Informer had arranged for easy check-in. After grabbing my wristband, I headed into the park, and the first ride I jumped on was the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. I was thrilled to see that the ride’s wait time was only 5 minutes, while the regular wait was over an hour long.
The rides were open till midnight, and I was able to ride every attraction at least once. I also attended a Q&A session with the theme park insiders where they shared some behind-the-scenes facts and answered fans’ questions.
The highlight of the evening was the dessert party held at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The dessert buffet included an array of cakes, pies, and chocolate delicacies, and a light show highlighted the Hogwarts castle. The event was topped off with a spectacular fireworks display.
