As an avid gamer and lover of the Cyberpunk genre, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Cyberpunk 2077. I followed the development process closely, watched every trailer, and read every piece of news I could find. But when the game finally launched, I found myself disappointed – not in the story or the world, but in the gameplay mechanics. Specifically, I wish that Cyberpunk 2077 had been a third-person game, rather than the first-person perspective it currently has.

The Case for Third-Person Gaming

Before I delve into my personal experience, let me explain the underlying reasoning behind my preference for third-person gaming. For starters, third-person games offer a wider field of view, allowing players to better immerse themselves in the game’s environment. This wider perspective is especially important in open-world games like Cyberpunk 2077, where exploration and discovery are key components of the gameplay.

Another benefit of third-person games is that they allow for better character customization and personalization. Players are able to see their avatar, and therefore can tailor their appearance and gear to their liking. This aspect of gaming is important to many, as it adds a layer of creative expression and individuality to the gaming experience.

Finally, third-person games make it easier to understand spatial relationships. It’s easier to judge distance and depth when you can see your character from a distance. However, I can’t help but wonder how much more engaging the game would be if it had been designed as a third-person game.
